Last year we've been Inside the Air Ministry Building (Reichsluftfahrtministerium), this year we've been inside the Paul-Löbe-Haus and Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, where usually is not possible to enter and to take pictures.
This year, for the Tag der Ein- und Ausblicke, it has been possible to visit both the buildings, together with the Reichstag Building. The aim was to let the people get in touch with the political parties, organizing tours, talks and different activities inside the two buildings.
The Paul-Loebe-Haus and Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus form through their architecture a unit by matching the River Spree contours of the roof edge and the bridge on both sides of the Spree connects the two buildings. The architect of both houses referred to the bridge as "Leap across the Spree" (Sprung über die Spree). The connection of the building from east to west symbolized the unity of East and West Germany (the Berlin Wall ran across the build area).
Inside the Bibliothek des Deutschen Bundestages, the ceiling is adorned with a rotating blue neon tape by Italian artist Maurizio Nannucci with a spell that is based on a quote from Hannah Arendt: "Freedom is conceivable as the possibility of action among equals / Equality is conceivable as the possibility of action for freedom."
